Pre-production.

The first important step to creating great video content is a great brief.

Basic information this should include:

  • Company name.
  • Contact email address.
  • Who / what / where / when we will be shooting.
  • Delivery deadlines.
  • Budget.
  • How much guidance you would like on the creative and strategy of your project.

Bobbin is built to make video production easy and fun – taking care of as much or as little as you need and want.

The best videos are made collaboratively and we love to work with marketing teams from start to finish.

Maximising your creative input but minimising stress.

This means guiding you through the creative process step-by-step. Inviting your team to every shoot day and supplying them with client monitors. Sit in edit days at our SW London video production edit suite. Easy to use online review platform with team collaboration tools.

And – of course – unlimited edits on every project.

Yes. When it comes to producing video content, one of the most critical factors determining the success or failure of your video content is the script. A video script acts as the blueprint for video production; outlining the key messaging, visual elements and overall direction of the video. It’s the north star of your video content.

How scripted your content should be depends on your objectives and the specific nature of the video content.

At Bobbin, we produce three types of script:

  • Full Script: Scripted dialogue or directed action involving actors or custom animation.
  • Story Script: Story arc outline with detailed description of each scene in story order with decisions made on the approximate nature of each section of the video.
  • Interview Script: Key messaging, questions to be asked, prompts and target soundbites.

We work on scripts collaboratively.

It is always best if you write a first outline including all of the information you want to include and a rough indication of the type of things you want to see and hear. We then start iterating with you, refining the script as we go until we’re all happy to head into production.

Video content benefits from meticulous planning and storyboarding is a key tool in video storytelling.

Most projects we work on require basic storyboarding where we plan out what your audience sees and hears and in what order. This can be as simple as writing out rough story blocks so that we can get an idea of what we need to create to best tell your story.

More complex projects, particularly those involving custom animation or actors and models require careful planning and design. These projects should be fully storyboarded: basic sketches or images which approximate each shot and scene, arranged in a precise order.

Filming in public spaces in central London requires proper permissions to avoid legal issues.

Here’s a breakdown of how we cover permissions for filming in London but can be applied to most cities across the world:

1. Contact Local Authorities – Apply for a filming permit from Film London or the relevant borough council (e.g., Westminster, City of London).

2. Traffic & Public Safety – If blocking roads or pavements, coordinate with Transport for London (TfL) and local police.

3. Drone Filming – Requires approval from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and landowner consent.

4. Private Property – Get permission if filming near private buildings.

5. Insurance & Risk Assessment – Ensure you have public liability insurance and submit a risk assessment for safety.

Shoot.

We keep our crews lean and nimble. Typically our crews are 3-4 people including a director/producer, camera operator, gaffer plus an assistant or stills photographer.

Simple shoots – such as event highlights – can sometimes only need a single shooter.

Large crews of 10+ people allow us to cover much more ground to a higher standard. More complex commercial shoots will often require more hands on deck including specialists, POV drone pilots, focus pullers, hair and make up artists and assistants.

Our in-house kit store is packed with the latest video equipment ready to deploy at a moments notice.

Cinema cameras, stills cameras, 360 cameras, Super8 cameras, prime and zoom lenses, tripods, gimbals, lights, stands, modifiers, boom and radio lav mics, sound recorders, client and director monitors, matte boxes and filters, drones, loads of batteries of batteries and memory cards to keep it all running.

We stock lots of top quality equipment including Sony FX series, ARRI cine range, Canon lenses, Sennheiser microphones, miller tripod heads (did anyone order a buttery smooth pan?) and DJI drones and gimbals.

British weather is notoriously unpredictable. If booking a backup shoot day isn’t within budget, we will make sure we have a plan B ready for any shots planned for exterior locations.

100%. We are all about collaboration.

We welcome clients to join us on set and provide creative input. Being part of the shoot ensures your vision is clearly captured while fostering collaboration between your team and our video production crew.

Whether you want to oversee the shot selection, styling, or overall creative direction, we’re happy to accommodate. By working together, we can craft visuals that authentically represent your brand and make sure your final video content looks like it was made by you, not for you.

Just let us know during the planning phase how much you’d like to be involved to make sure we can align scheduling for times that work.

Yes, we have fully licensed and certified drone pilots on the Bobbin team.

Our operators are skilled in capturing stunning aerial footage while adhering to all legal regulations and safety protocols.

Whether you’re looking to showcase a sweeping landscape, highlight a location or building or just to add dynamic perspectives to your video, we can deliver high-quality drone shots that elevate your production. Let us know your vision, and we’ll handle the rest, including permits and compliance.

Post-production.

Nifty, right?

The number of edited videos you receive depends on your project goals and package selection. We offer flexible options, from single hero videos to comprehensive multi-video campaigns tailored for different platforms.

Video SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the process of optimising your video content to rank higher in search engine results, like Google and YouTube.

This involves crafting titles, descriptions, keywords, closed captioning, metadata tagging and of course thumbnail images.

These all help search engines understand your video’s content.

Effective video SEO increases your online visibility, drives organic traffic, and ensures your audience finds your videos when searching for related topics.

We can help optimise every project to boost its reach and impact – just let us know you’re looking for video SEO as part of your package when you get in touch.

Bobbin includes unlimited edits with every project.

Why?

Bobbin’s mission is to help awesome brands win with great video content. Creating the best content involves experimenting, iteration and testing out ideas.

Sometimes you need a few extra revisions to get your video just the way you like it.

At Bobbin, we believe in a collaborative creative process without limits and we hate the idea of leaving you with video content that you’re not super excited about.

Our video production is split into three main phases:

  1. Sequence: Deciding the shots, music and copy used in your video.
  2. Motion Graphics: Animations, Motion Graphics and Transitions.
  3. Finishing: Colour Grade and Sound Mix.

Edits are delivered within 5 working days of notes received and we do not move onto the next phase until you are 100% happy. Full stop.

Absolutely.

We’ll work closely with your marketing team to ensure the style and design align perfectly with your brand and storytelling goals.

Bobbin gives you unlimited edits with every project.

Here’s how a typical edit will go.

  • First edits of your content is typically delivered within 2-3 weeks of your final shoot date.
  • Re edits are delivered within 5 working days after we receive your feedback.
  • We don’t move on to the next phase of production until you’re 100% happy with the results.

Our team ensures every detail is fine-tuned to match your vision, whether it’s colour correction, sound design, or pacing adjustments.

This translates to an average total post-production time of between 8-10 weeks.

We can, of course, work to any deadline though.

Let us know about your project delivery deadlines and we’ll make sure we hit ’em.

At Bobbin, great sound quality is a top priority.

We use great microphones and audio equipment during filming to capture crystal-clear sound.

In post-production, we sound design and refine your audio; removing any unwanted noise, adjusting levels, and balancing dialogue, music, and effects for a seamless listening experience.

Whether viewed on a phone, computer, or large screen, your video content will sound awesome.

Footage Library.

The Footage Library is an online folder containing all of the footage from your shoot days.

Trimmed down to the good stuff, colour graded, compressed and delivered as individual clips.

Including full length, uncut interviews.

Hundreds of fully-licensed high-quality clips ready to drag n’ drop onto your website, social media, ad campaigns, website banners… anything you can imagine!

From a typical shoot day, you can expect to receive 200-300 individual clips of high-quality footage, ready to use.

Think of it as a big box of lego bricks ready for your marketing team to create their own content with.

Pretty cool right?

No.

Raw footage – files that come straight out of the camera – looks and sounds horrible.

  • The colours are all flat and grey.
  • The sound is rubbish.
  • There’s hours and hours of it.
  • The files are enormous (typically an interview ill be around 50-100gb in size).
  • It takes ages to find the stuff you need.

Now, this is no problem for professional video production company – this all gives us loads of options in the video edit.

But it’s a real pain for anyone else.

Without processing, you physically cannot share raw footage online as no online platform will accept raw camera files.

Now.

Other video production companies keeps hold of all that footage and charges an additional fee to  license it, use it or edit it. Or it simply sits on a hard drive somewhere gathering dust.

Here at Bobbin, we think creating things is fun. We created the Footage Library to enable you to have fun creating things too.

That’s why we give you all this footage, trimmed down to the good stuff, colour graded, sound mixed and compressed. Ready to drag n’ drop into your own content.

We categorise all of the clips and upload them to the cloud, ready for any of your team – in the office or remote – to download.

These files are categorised and uploaded to a private Dropbox folder, delivered to you as a download link.

Within 2 weeks of final sign off on your edited video content.

Using basic, easy to use editing apps – Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express – your Footage Library gives your marketing team everything they need to create high-quality video content for no extra cost.

Instantly increasing the quality of all your video marketing content.

Funnel content, website banners, newsletter media, reels, shorts, stories, teasers… anything you can imagine!

Nope.

All the clips within your Footage Library are fully licensed and yours to share wherever, forever.
